last check b4 I buy pump for aux activation

I'm going to buy a lumbar pump off ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-F...spagenameZWDVW
and summit rpm switch
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I have been driving without my aux since I have had the car since someone put in a different cat and didnt connect the pipe. The pipe is gone now so the only other options I see was air pump modification, and um ... the actuator things but that looks expensive.
I have done a search just making sure there isnt anything new out there that somenhow got past me.

(also going to be putting a s5 UIM on my s4 this winter yay!)

I should be seeing a large increase in power at high rpm I HOPE. A minivan almost beat me in 3rd when I Was @ high rpm :P

I dunno man. I know someone who had used similar ford airpumps for his auxilary ports and had trouble... I don't think that you will get enough air out of that. I went through several different pumps before I got one that worked.

Get a Cadillac or Lincoln air ride suspension pump. Those will definately put out enough pressure without failing quickly. I use one from a Lincoln Mark VIII.

a related question, where can you buy the actuators besides the dealer??

arghx 12-21-06 02:58 PM

you can get the actuators on the forums here in the for sale section. they aren't worth much and are easy to find.

^^ that is the exact pump i used. There's two parts to it: the actual air compressor and then the black air tank thingie that splits the air to each shock on the car. They are bolted together... do not separate them.

Take that black thingie apart (You will have to cut it up) There should be little dessicant (spelling?) balls in there that dry out the air. You don't need it. hook some kind of hose up to it and run the line to the nipple on the manifold. as far as mounting it... you will have to be creative. I mounted mine to the strut tower, but I don't have a strut tower bar. I would use silicone hose too because my rubber hose melted once.

I used the lumbar air pump for my VDI and also used it for my Aux, worked great, just opens the ports kinda slow.
