Larger WG Flapper?

I was wondering if anyone makes a large wastegate flapper valve assembly for the s4 turbos? Kind of like the ones BNR shows in the pic below. I have seen the threads of people welding on washers but am not sure how the washer material would hold up to the temp.

You could use an exhuast valve from piston engines and just weld it on. Should be able to hold up.

You can use a steel washer for god sakes!

Long term I would never trust a standard steel washer in a place with that high of heat.

cheapest new exhaust valve you can buy = will last forever.

For all the talk of a steel washer not being able to withstand the heat, I've yet to see a single person prove that it can't, i.e. a photo showing a disintegrated washer. And I don't know exactly what BNR are using but they obviously don't see the need for an exhaust valve.

My mild steel washer (free from work) is still doing just fine after nearly two years.

Jason--

Does your wastegate flapper still have a little bit of play like stock? or is it stationary in one place?

The washer is welded to the stock flap, so it moves freely just as it did before.
