kg/mm springs

Does anyone know anything about these things? say... spring rate?

They came on a S5 N/A my g/f just bought. Ride height is decent, can't really comment on how well it handles.

I've never heard of them before, and searching under kg/mm is useless, since its a measurement of spring rate.

Searching I found the bcool runs them, but was looking for a little more info.

Thanks.

Uh, what?

Cars ride on springs.

KG/MM is a brand of aftermarket springs for FC's. They came on my g/f's newly acquired 1990 GX.

kg/mm is also a metric measurement of spring rate.

I would like to get some infor on these springs, such as spring rate, linear or progressive, total drop from stock ride height, if anyone knew.

What is so hard to understand? Is english not your first language?

http://www.kgm.co.jp/

No japanese required (ok, maybe a little, from the looks of it they only make FD springs?)

Here is a pic as the car was purchased with the existing ride height.

Thank-you!

I don't have the language packs... or, apparently, the CD that is required to install them.

Can anyone tell me the gist of the website?

I've heard nothing but good things about kg/mm springs. My buddy has some on his civic and he loves them on the track.

Don't be so insulting. I'd just never heard of the brand.

I must say it was a pretty bad marketing choice...

Well, since nobody posted the info here for you, not sure if you got it on your own or not, but here's what the site says:

Apparently, they only make dual-rate for the FD

The rates are:
Original / Primary
7.4 / 5.6
5.8 /4.4

Drop: F & R -25 (I'd assume mm)

I'll see if I can find out if they made any older springs for the FC

scathcart 10-22-05 02:59 AM

Thanks.

I'll snap some pics of these things... they're pretty intense. They hardly look like they have any more room for compression before the actual coils contact each other, and there about about twice as many coils on them as them as the stock or other aftermarket springs.

Ride is not bad. I would estimate somewhere along the lines of 6/4 Fr/Rr.

I'll take some vernier measurements of the coil diameter and see if I can work out the spring rate.

Oh, found out they do make FC3S springs, they're just no longer on their site.

DR/R
DR/S
DR21/SS

Trying to find the rates for each of them now.

SonicRaT 10-22-05 03:15 AM

Aha! Found it!

Kg/mm DR21 3.7 3.0 -35 -35
Kg/mm SS 3.5 3.0 -35 -35
Kg/mm sport 3.0 2.5 -15 -15
Kg/mm racing 5.0 4.4 -50 -50

Agh, I give up! Damn formatting is impossible! LOL, anyway, first # is front, second is rear, followed by front drop/rear drop.
