its a JDM styling thing. I have it on mine.
GT-X was S5 Turbo GT-R was S4 Turbo |
OO I want the one that says GT-R I prolly can find a civic badge that says that :D
|
Well your car is rice already! :D
The reason I did it was because I don't want it to say "Turbo" anywhere on it, so the ricers I race won't know what it is. But I wanted the true enthusiasts to know it wasn't just an N/A with a TII hood, so I put the GT-X. In fact GT-X is all it says. No Mazda, No RX-7, no Turbo II, nothing. |
what about GT-limited? WTF was that?
|
wut the heck?
there are badges like that? i would understand if they meant something for the engine or something just for style is pretty weird |
Why should they stand for the engine? A GT-X or GT-R is the turbo coupe. Just like a GXL is a luxury model. Or a civic HX is a hatchback. Its a trim level designation.
|
GT-X, GT-R and GT-Limited were all trim levels of Japanese TIIs. Kinda, like "GXL", "GTU" etc., but since all Japanese FCs were turbocharged, a sticker that says "Turbo II" is somewhat pointless. ;) I think the GT-Limited was a "luxury" model, equipped with automatic climate control, leather, etc., while the GT-Xs and GT-Rs were a bit more stripped down and hardcore. :)

ZachSpazz is right,
but I have to say that all kinds of aftemarket stikers if its GTX or GTR here in USA I consired as RICE, because you don't have GTX or GTR, those a jap cars. Now I'm even thinking to remove RX-7 from back of my car and mazda emblem too.... |

SO can anyone produce a website or something with this emblem information. Or if you have a book maybe scan the page and post it up.
|
My car doesn't have badges on the back from the factory, and doesn't say anything where the "GXL" or "Turbo II" stickers go, and doesn't have anything on the front bumper. Except under the hood, the only place it says "Mazda" is on my steering wheel, heh.
|
When I re-paint mine it will be totally badgeless. It is a lot more fun when the girls think your car is a Ferrari or a Mazerati (It HAS happened). Nobody is impressed by the name Mazda. The embossment on the front bumper can easily be sanded off....
|
ohhh
immah put a gt-limited on mine and rice it out all the way!!!!!!!!j/k :D |
GT-X
