JDM swap

Im looking at getting a S5 Turbo JDM motor with a cut harnessfor my S4 N/A. I have a spare S4 Turbo harness and obviously a S4 N/A harness. First off will the N/A harness work or will the S4 Turbo? Like i would need them to plug into the S5 ECU.

Get a S4 engine, it will save you a lot of trouble in the end. Also some people managed to keep the N/A harness but using the turbo one is better and you'll also need the correct TII ECU. This has been anwsered many times in the past so please search if you'd like more info.

^Don't listen to him. Keep your N/A harness as it has the alternator wiring. You will run into nothing but headaches if you use a turbo harness.

Guess I should have said it's better IMO. I'm a perfectionnist, little details drive me nuts :suspect:.

It isn't better. There is nothing on the TII harness that the N/A harness doesn't have, that is needed to run the engine.

Thanks guys. so with the n/a harness ill be able to plug in the Turbo ECU and then plug right into the turbo II motor? and also can i still do an S5 motor or since its an S4 N/A do i have to get an S4 T2?

You could use a s5 engine in an s4 but it's a lot more trouble and not worth it in my opinion unless you already have one.

I highly suggest you use an s4 engine, just because everything plugs in. And yes, the N/A harness will plug into a TII ecu.

Is this true for the S5 also? If I get a JDM S5 TII to swap I can keep my N/A harness in place?

if i get a cosmo 3 rotor engine can i use my stock harness? and ecu?

yes.

while we're on the subject, im putting a 62' HUEY jet engine in my 88 tII... can i use my stock fuel pump or will i need a walbro?

ANYWAY i agree with the other guys, get an s4 engine it will make for a much easier swap. Unless of course you already have the s5 motor

Thanks for your help guys. oh yea and good luck with your jet engine. i think you should be good with your stock fuel pump. lol

Yes.

I'll just tell you what I did... I bought a S4 JDM 13BT and used my S4 N/A harness. There is very little modification that needs to be done to use the N/A harness. It works great BTW.

CarzArKoo1 05-20-07 04:05 PM

clear for me, so S5 JDM fit N/A S5 harness. correct?

CarzArKoo1 05-20-07 04:06 PM

same situation as the S4. good luck to your swap.

dwb87 05-20-07 04:12 PM

Yeah, it should be the same for your S5 swap. S5 TII engine with S5 N/A harness will work. I guess you figured that out...

My swap is pretty much done, just waiting on one more thing. Good luck to you too though~
