jap engine harness in american car...

I have a japanese s5 t2 front clip, and as we are all well aware, they sit on the opposite side, and therefore their wiring is the direct opposite of ours.
I really really don't want to go through the work of finding a t2 s5 harness (usually around $200) and installing it.

So here's what I'm thinking.
The jap. wiring harness has enough length to get all the way to the (american) passenger side under the hood. BUT there are about 20 wires in a harness that is in the interior of the car.

Anyone know of a good way of extending these wires, or any other related info?

thanks.

what if we move the PCM to the other side of the car ?

as in, under the drivers side floor? not very much room in the first place, and I'd have to drill a massive hole in the firewall.
and it still doesn't solve my initial problem.
"there are about 20 wires in a harness that is in the interior of the car"

it's on the passenger side, and I have no idea where it goes or what it connects to.

Hey man I was thinking about it, wont you have to use the j-spec harness, Im asking because as you know your new engine does not have all the emissions BS and some of the other stupid stuff, will a us harness work? I dunno I may be up for the engine pull, I have to see whats goin on on the 6th. see ya

an american-spec harness is required, that's why I'm trying to find a way around it.

are you planning on parting out your engine or something?

What I did was extend the harness to the passenger side as much as possible then estrech the wires and socket connector that are in the interior to the hole in the firewall. you will have to add the wipper and cruise control wires to it a long with the extra plug.

let me get some pics.

You can the the engine harness wires peeking down. They stretch all the way down with slack to spare.

THE first pic you can see the blue wires and the brownish plug that came from the N/A FC where meshed in to the turbo wireharness socket on their corresponding location.

I had to sotter some wires but nothing major. At the end I ended with two extra wires from the engine harness( wich i guess arnt important).

Hope this Helps.
