Today I installed a stainless steel clutch line.

I was adding brake fluid every 2-3 days. not to mention air getting sucked into the line causing harder shifting. biggest difference is the 1-2 upshift and putting it in reverse is a lot easier less resistance. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...k301/024-5.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...k301/025-5.jpg I am also still trying to figure out why car still hits a wall when i turn hard or accerlate hard on occation. Im pretty sure its fuel related. I pulled the fuel pump since I have almost no gas in it and found a couple of little rust spots. you can see where the gas level was when the car sat for 9 years. I cleaned it all up and drove it it still does it. Im kinda at a loss. I am thinking of replacing the pickup sock. It was a little dirty. also the ground on top of the pump housing was damn near rusted off. so i fixed that. I actually heard a chime for low fuel on the drive home. lol http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...k301/026-4.jpg |
You might be hitting fuel cut! The factory comp will cut fuel when boosting over 8lbs. If this is the case it may blow the motor. Try finding a s4 FCD (Fuel cut defense) used here on the forum.

i ordered a fuel sock for fuel pump. it only does it when less than 1/4 tank and taking sharp turns. happens every time.

I would suggest starting a new thread about that particular problem. I'm sure someone will chime in on the cure! I started following your thread because I have the same setup and went about accuring my 7 like you did. May I suggest you keep a look out for a blown s5 turbo and manifold. Eventually you will need to port the wastegate and the s5 is the way to go. |
Did you reinstall the bracket for the clutch line? It actually makes a slight difference in pedal feel.
Replacing the sock is a good start for the cut out issue. |
i will install the bracket this week. I forgot to put it on and i dident have anyone around to bleed it again.
ill start looking for a s5 turbo and manifold this winter so i can take the old one off and install a ported s5 one with the rb Tii exhaust i plan on getting with my year end bounus paycheck |
What happened after you turned the AC on?
|
There's supposed to be a chime for low fuel?!

my 85 300zx would talk and say "Fuel is low" as well as other things. |
Off topic, that has to be the greatest quote I've ever seen. The one in your Sig :D

Today I installed;
-new oem sparkplugs. (old ones looked like crap (they where platinum plugs?) from 1 day in the old motor and 1200 miles on the rebuilt one. -new NGK spark plug wires (I dont know when the old ones where replaced if ever) -Oil pressure gauge sender. (made a difference, but the gauge is still a little screwey) -Fuel pump sock filter. (Old one i think the screen was deteroated so bad it was restricting flow and causing my hard turn hesition. I got a half tank left before I can verify repair. -Radiator will be ordered at the end of the week, as its really leaking now. Luckely the car does even get hot before i get to work. the pleasures of working 3 blocks from home. I also found out that my car does NOT have power door locks. No wonder i couldent find that relay. I took the passenger door panel off and no actuator for the door lock. But i found the speaker blown out so I picked up a new set a co worker had laying around. |
-fuel pump sock filter fixed my hesitation on turns or takeoffs when im low on gas. FYI
Not a lot of work done lately. getting plates and regestation done on my winter beater civic. I have the door panels taken apart to find the factory speakers blown. installing new speakers. and lubing up the linkages and window run channels. replaced that bulb for the drivers keyhole too. |
nice find! loving the color combination. if your going to remove all that stuff might as well remove the omp lines and run premix. funny story is that i also bought my 87 t2 from some guy that was sick. WOW! the time actually shows up on the dummy console! cant wait to see this thing when its done.

Happy new year! With all this mild chicago winter weather I ordered up some parts. Pics comming within the week.
Incomming parts... -s5 tail lights, mint and includes the center part -clear glass headlights (so i can run H4 bulbs) -Passenger side mirror glass. (it sucks not having a passenger mirror glass!) -Koyo Radiator. (Old radiator has small leak dont wanna risk it) -Rare 1987 Rx-7 factory accessory cd player I currently have it being restored at the radio shop. having them make everything work right and having a line in plug for my i pod installed. once i get some crap sold around the house I plan on a exhaust rtek and porting the turbo wastegate. I had the doors apart installing new speakers since the old door speakers where blown. I tore apart the drivers door handle and instlled a new bulb for the keyhole light! now when you pull up on the drivers handle the keyhole lights up green. cool stuff. |
subbed to see whats next!
great build |
These restoration threads make me want to change my gameplan.
Good work, and congrats on finding my favorite color combo ever! |
also ordered up from mazda a broken triangle vent, front defroster vent, and the passenger window molding and pass. door molding. lots of pics to come,,,,

Really nice work so far! Love to see some people wanting to keep these cars stock as much as possible! I mean, small upgrades that arent seen, like having a carbon stock-look hood painted in original color, not a big problem. Swapping all exterior to S5, as well as the main parts of the interior, like the cluster, works for me. But way to many riced up cars out there. My future child (if I ever get one) will never be able to see a bone stock FC if people as you seize to exist! I do not want that!

Nice car! I have one of those pass. side alarm switches, PM me
|
How much are you paying to restore the stock cd player? I have one that I would love to use but it's a little glitchy
