intake, what size?
 

i have an 89 Turbo, and someone said on 89-91, you dont need to buy an actuall "intake system" , they said a cone filter would clamp right on and work great...

I was wondering what kind of cone and what size to get and if there is a place online to get them?

You need to get or fabricate an adapter plate that bolts on to the MAF sensor. www.K2RD.com sells them for like $20 or something close to that. Then any 3" filter will attach to it. I bought a K&N it is like 6" long and barely fits. You will have to do something with the airpump. I put a small crank case filter on the inlet to the pump, this is just temporary, eventually I will remove the pump all together. If you go with an HKS filter however they have a flange for the airpump hose to go on, but they seem to be alot of $$$. Also as a note you should do a search for TID mod and you can find how to sqeeze out even more power. A warning however all these things raise boost pressure so you should look into an FCD.:)

On an '89-'91, you actually don't need an adaptor. A cone filter clamps right on to the MAF sensor. On the other hand, you do need an adaptor for '86-'88. I think it's a 2.5" diameter at the end of the MAF.

Yup. since i dont know exact dimensions of the 89+ my suggestion is to remove the stock airbox, take out the measuring tape, measure how big the flange is, how much room you have for length and width, then hit up your local speed shop and rummage through their filters till you find one that matches the criteria. Bolt up the filter, zip tie everything in place and your done. Once again however if the 89+ has the airpump plumbed to the stock air box you will need to find a way to filter the air for it.

well my cats are gone now...so as soon as I find a intake, Im going to remove my airpump.
