Intake Mods -AFM question

Hey, I've got the intake apart on my 86 na to install Pineapple Racing 6-port sleeves. While I'm in here, I'm noticing that the AFM looks rather restrictive (trap door type)! Anyone try converting to a better design? Are 89-91 AFM's better, and are they compatible with the 86 ECU?

Thanks,

Eric

You have no option other than to gut everything and install and tune a stand-alone.&nbsp Either that or give SplitSecond tuning $5k in cash and get them to figure it out for you...

Kinda makes me want a good ol' carb!

Or get a HKS VPC, which eliminates the AFM, but they're nearly as much as a Haltech!

There are a couple company's that offer a hot wire retrofit situation, but once again you might as well go Haltech.

Or like that one moron you could just zip tie the flapper door open:thumbd:

HKS doesn't offer a VPC system for 1986-1988 Zenki FC's... :(
HKS does offer a VPC for the 1989-1991 Kouki FC's, but it's a Japan--only unit and no plans to release into the U.S.
