Also you can purchase a harness that is plug and play with no wiring from HKS. -MIke |
i looked on that site, but i still dont get it. i plugged the TT harness to the timer already. but i have four plugs at the other end of the harness:
1. yellow, green, blue 2. blue, blue, yellow 3. green, green, red 4. red, red, green would it be better if i had a specialty shop install it for me? how much would they charge? well if anyone can give me tips i would really appreciate it. i really would like to get this on soon. |
no it is easy, if you have the harness you just plug one end into the turbo timer and the other end into the ignition pig tail, after the ignition switch. I takes all of about 30 minutes to do everything.

would these be the plugs that i connect the harness too? do i just match the corresponding plugs to each one? and what do i do about the brown (speed sensor) wire and the gray (parking brake) wire? are they in the same area? |
up.!
Which one do you have? Type 0 or 1?
im not sure....i didnt get the box, i can't tell from the appearance i know that. i guess if it lights up amber color then its the zero.
There will be 2 sets of plugs for the ignition under your steering column. Just separate one pair and plug one pair from the harness to those plugs. One is female and one is male so you cant really mess up. Repeat for the second set of plugs under the steering column. If it doesnt work just switch the plugs around. When I did mine it worked on the first try so I dont know if it matters which pair goes with which. Also do not forget your ebrake sensor if you have one or your TT wont work correctly.
would the ebrake sensor wire be in the same area as those plugs? gray color wire right?
Not sure of the colour but the e-brake wire is actually on the e-brake.
damn, so im gonna have to carefully remove the plastic surrounding it. hopefully nothing breaks.
The ebrake sensor is in the center console where the security light is. I think it's a red wire. Splice into it. If you dont connect the ebrake sensor your TT wont count down after you turn off the ignition.
wheres a good place to place my grounding wire? i was thinking in that place where you screw in the center console.
and which wire is it for the parking brake? i can't find it. i see all these red wires from that plug. |
okay i found the parking brake wire. it was wrapped in a red wire, which was wrapped in a black wire. so i grabbed a razor and cut the wire.
you could just ground teh ebrake sensor, its not that big of a deal.
