Installing a new diff centre

My diff is stuffed and I'd like to fix it.

A friend has offered to help me change it over (for another second hand centre) at his house.

Is it simple to do or do I need a mechanic to fit it?

My car is an 87 Turbo with open-wheeler diff.

Thanks
Daniel

If you have any wrenching skills you should be able to do the swap.
The question is, will it be lined up properly?

By diff center: Do you mean the whole differential assemly as assembled in the carrier; or do you mean a different ring and pimion ger?

Changing the diff assembly is straight bolt-in. Installing and setting up a new ring and pinion is a more complicated affair

the whole assembly!

other question is how much gear oil do I need to refill the thing?

Cheers
Daniel
