Installing H3 fog light bulbs without blowing fuses
 

Alright, I installed my new yellow fog light bulbs, but have been having some problems. I cant make it stop blowing fuses. The bulbs were stock wattage, and the only problem was that they were H3's, not H3C's. So after searching around I made a jumper wire and grounded it to the part with the spring that holds the bulb down, and they worked fine until i put them completely together. My guess is that the wires are some how connecting, but I cant seem to figure out how to keep them from doing this. There isnt much space once you screw on the locking ring, and that must be whats pushing the wires to close together. Does anyone have any advice? I like the look, but i just cant seem to keep it from poping fuses. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

i ran into the same problem with mine when i converted to H3's. first off i made the jumper wire shorter, and then i went with a higher fuse. one that was just a touch smaller than my relay. btw, i'm not using the rx-7 factory harness for my fogs.

Yea i had to shorten my wires too, but they were still blowing fuses. I guess i might try some smaller gauge wires. Are there any other ideas out there? How many of you have H3's?

Happened to me too.. I just to it back off. put some heatsink where the wire was burnt and looped the wire around to make it shorter. It's it continues to blow fuses I'll just find some H3Cs. But I have been going for two days and no blown fuses yet.

Try an H7... after 7 months of installing a new H7 onto one side of my car its still working just fine, never blew a fuse. The light output is brighter, the beam reaches farther out than the H3c. A lot of people say this is unsafe to do, And that the light output will be crap. But there wrong, and i think if they saw it in person then their minds would be changed...

If you wanna go the H7 route id suggest looking at the bulb and comparing it to the stock H3c 55w. so you can see how you need to modify it properly. I did it the Ghetto way...

I looked at the H7s at Oriellys and the guy let me see if it would fit and the prongs where just too far apart in. Anyway, using a h3 bulb ise probably a lot easier.
