installing ferio electric Fan what to do?
hey i am going to install a fiero fan if any of you have this done can you tell me where you hooked the wires up and what all i will need to make this fan work? Thanks

Get yourself an adjustable thermostat, its really straight forward...I just used zip ties to hold it on my radiator too hasn't failed me yet :)
what wires are you talking about black is ground and red is the power on the fan, if you buy an adjustable thermo it will have detailed wiring directions... |
ok cool but really what i want to know is where did everyone hook there power sorce from?? becuase it wont give me detailed instructions for an rx-7. I want to know where they hooked the wire up so it will turn on and off as you turn the ignition on or off.

There is a connnector by the battery that has ignition hot available.
Use a test light to figure out which wire. You still need a relay so the fan current doesn't flow through the ignition switch. I guarantee you the ignition switch cannot handle it without the relay. |
so what all do i need to buy???(im on a diff. name)
|
why not just wire the sucker right off a battery cable up to the temp sensor for turning it on, and then back to the battery, with a fuse in there?
|
Wire a power wire to a switch, ground it, and run another wire to the fan itself.
Turn the fan on and off when you want to *shrug* |
no dont do the switch!!!! i did that and burnt my motor up because i forgot to turn it on. so i just wired it so its on when the igniton is on..

Do a search in this forum for a similar topic. A wiring diagram was posted that should indicate how to wire it up. I apologize in advance if I'm wrong, but I THINK that NZConvertible posted the diag.
Also, plan on hooking a lead up from your AC if you still have it installed. You're going to want that fan running when your AC is on. |
Here's the thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...tric+fan+diode I knew it had the word diode in it (read and you'll understand, so that made it easy to find. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...postid=1703118 |
