Installing engine -- help

Anyone have any tips, tricks, ideas on getting the engine to meet the transmission?

I have the transmission jacked up all the way and have angled the engine to corespond to the angle and can get the top bolt to align and go about half way in. It just won't go from there.

Any help appreciated.

I have yet to do this, I still haven't gotten mine out yet, but in my research I came across a couple of posts that said it's easier to leave the transmission where it belongs and wiggle the engine into place.

I think you have to wiggle the engine so the splines line up.

Just keep wiggling the engine. My first time took like 20 minutes... Took me like 40 seconds my second time

I finally got it. The engine really need to be perfectly square with the transmission housing... and I mean perfect. Thanks for your help

it took me 3 hours to do mine... it was horrible.

Next time I do a engine swap, Im taking out the engine/tranny at once.

It took me about 5 hours...now I always pull the tranny on any motor I take out...it is so much easier to reattach the 4 driveshaft bolts.
