Installing ABS sensor/trigger wheel in non ABS car?

Hello. I need to install a front and rear wheel ABS speed sensors/trigger wheels so that I can use the traction control in my standalone. I have an '87 T2 that didn't come with ABS- is it possible to add the factory trigger wheels to a non-ABS car? Or are the hubs/spindles different?

On a side note- if it does fit and anyone has some ABS trigger wheels and sensors sitting around- I am in need of a couple.

Thanks
Ben

Adding ABS to a non-ABS car is a very pricey and extensive task. I haven't even heard of anyone attempting it, and I personally wouldn't bother either.

it aint no thing, just a buncha parts you need to get. ;) why dont you just install them in the rear? only 2 wheels that are going to be connected to the engine.

I'm not installing ABS on a non-ABS car- I'm just installing an ABS sensor/trigger wheel on a driven wheel, and another one on a non-driven wheel.

Does anyone know if the mounting holes for the ABS trigger wheel/sensor are present on hubs/spindles from a non-ABS car?

Thanks
Ben

I would say no since ABS wasn't an option until later. There would be no reason for the mounting holes to exist.

Thanks very much for the reply- I'll just have a friend fab up trigger wheels.

What a bunch of morons...

To install the ABS sensor, you need the hubs also.
I dunno if you access for a set of hubs, but these are not easy to find.

thanks for the reply- I was guessing that I'd need a set of different hubs which would be hard to track down. And I haven't had any luck finding the necessary ABS parts so I'm just going to fab up what I need.

thanks

Maybe fire off a thread in the parts forum.
Many like I have pulled the ABS when the pump started leaking.
The are probably some donor chassis around.

I actually just found a yard that will sell the whole hub assembly for $65/corner which works out pretty well. I sent out a WTB earlier for the ABS parts but no response.

Thanks

Pretty sure the holes and mount points are there.
