Inner tie rod removal

I am trying to convert my car from power steering to manual steering as per these instructions:

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/how-de-power-your-steering-rack-right-way-440198/

So I found this old write up from 2006:

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/write-up-inner-tie-rod-replacement-pics-608167/

However, it is over 4 years old now, and I am sure people have something new to say. I understand what is going on, and I have read the FSM, and I understand that I need a vice since the rack is out of the car now.

What I am asking is if anyone has their own tricks to share to remove the inner tie rods? Monkey spit, cow urine, inner tie rod removal tool from Harbor Freight? To anyone who has done it before, what worked for you guys?

They are not hard to remove. I did them without a vice. I used a hammer and a wrench the right size and "impacted" it off, while stepping on the rack. If you search here, you will find a link to a proper write up on teamfc3s.org

I got it tonight, I just used a wrench and huffed and puffed until it came apart. No hammer, but the vice was definitely helpful. I am well on my way to a steering depowering.
