injector ? is the primaries and secondaries different colors on any turbo2 ??
as it says above because i have reddish secondaries and pretty sure i have tan primaries
car: 87 turbo |
both mine on my 87 were reddish and my 86 n/a are the same I know because I tore my 87 apart after it got totaled and put a pair of it's 550's in my n/a's secondaires and the other set got missplaced and have been trying to disstinguish the 2 550's from all the otthers for going on 3 years. the s5 models have a purpleish color to them, but tannish ones could be posable as well even though I've never came across any and have torn down a crap load of second gens

Stock, you should have all tan injectors. Are the secondaries by chance orange? If so, they are 680cc units from the gsl-se as opposed to the 550cc units that are stock. If they are truly red, you need to change them because those are the 460cc units from an NA and you won't get enough fuel. My bet is that they are the orange ones from the gsl-se, though.

well they are red and under boost its still runs rich on my narrowband o2 and i dont mean like one bar into green its like 3 bars or more into green and it runs fine under boost but stock turbo and wastegate and 3in ful exhaust including downpipe it likes to run about 7 lbs in 4 and 5 gear and sometimes 3rd. so now is it safe to run 7lbs on factory fuel setup well i have a walboro 255. and the reason im asking all these questions about the year of my car and injectors is because it worries me that it runs fine on red secondaries but yet its a early 87 t2 and i have red secondaries so now i just feel stupid becuase i cant explain anything......oh yeah and heres another question i guess since they are red then they have to be 460 cc but a friend of mine says he has red secondariestoo. so now are we color blind or wtf is going on.is there a frankenstein mix match few sevens out there or what?? it cant be a fluke that this is happening since my friend is a rx7 nutand knows what he is talking about..

Thats really weird. I don't know why it would have red secondaries. I think I'm gonna have to leave this to an expert, cause its over my head.

well that wont happen since ill be blamed for not searching hard enough or being a newbie or something stupid noone can just give useful help with out a flame here or there

Yeah, that table is what I'm basing it off of. As long as you aren't running rich you are ok, but I would try to locate 2 more tan tops for the secondaries, since thats what the ECU thinks its running.
|
yeah i just got them in today but not installed i bought them off of rx7will
|
So you got tan tops?
|
i just got them yesterday in the mail so not installed yet but yes and the are balenced and cleaned by rc i think

sorry to bring up some old stuff but ive runn into the same problem. im just probably gonna need to drive the car 300 iles to get it to my house so i can tear it down again. Moms getting mad and i need the car at home to work on... im just wondering if you guys think its better to put the 460 in the primaries or better for the secondaries. i have a corksport exhaust so i know the boost will creep but i plan on keeping it under 5psi.. i know on the na the secondaries kick in around 6th port rpm range. but is it boost controlled on the turbo or rpm? thanks for any help guys
