Injector differences -- > RE Cosmo
 

Okay, I know there have been several threads regarding injector differences, but nothing that I can find on the Cosmo motors...

Specifically I'm trying to figure out what the Cosmo injectors are interchangeable with... More specifically, if I can get some 850cc FD injectors (side feed) do you think those would fit for the cosmo primaries? (side feed also).

I know I could go find others, but hey, it seems like FD injectors are easy to come by and relatively cheap -- and the 800ish range is about right for what I want for my primaries.

Secondaries I should be able to find as well -- top feeds, I think I could buy pretty easily from the forum stores or injector.com.

JC Cosmos and FD RX-7s use exactly the same injectors. Both use 550cc/min primaries and 850cc/min secondaries, but I don't know if the two sizes are interchangable. Since you already have both sizes, try fitting the secondaries into the primary location.

It's my understanding that Cosmos have 550s all around. Primaries are side feed, secondaries are top feed -- but I thought they were all 550s. Not that I took it for gospel, but there was a thread that indicated such awhile back and I thought the person posting was a reputable source.... I'll try to find that thread.

I have to speak to a mate who owns a 13B JC Cosmo tomorrow, so I'll get that confirmed for you. I know he's has them cleaned and tested recently.

Finally found the thread I got my info from... still not sure if the cosmo's primaries and FDs are the same even tho they're all side feed. I'll have to ask j9fd3s...

the secondaries on that motor were replaced with 1600's and a k2rd rail, the stock rail is almost identical to an 89-91 t2 rail, and the stock ingectors are as well

cool, so one could conclude that basically all of these injectors are interchangeable across REs, S5, and FD motors -- assuming like configs (side feed or top feed).
