iknow its asked alot but tps help plz

I own a 86 rx7 n/a . in morning car starts up and goes to 3k then drop to 2k for a while then slowly makes its way to 700 but at about 1500 i get pulsation it stops aftera while though and idles around 700-900. so i herdabout getting adevice that measure ohms to set the TPs. i bought a device it meases alot of things volts ohms andyou can set the dial in ohms for like 200 all the way up to 200K it runs on a 9 volt battery. Question is.. how cani adjust the TPS on my 86 n/a. with this device. thank you for the help.

First of all read the "Basic Electrical Troubleshooting on the RX-7" thread I did (I knew it would come in handy to someone sooner or later :))

There are several ways to check your TPS...The FSM way, with the test lights (or meters), and the resistance and voltage check ways. The resisitance checks fell out of favor with me long ago due to the trouble of getting nice solid readings. Me & a couple of other guys on this forum now check the TPS input at the ECU, that way you're also checking the entire circuit. You're gonna need to read up on the ECU & it's inputs in the FSM, section 4A.
