ignition leads, which goes where?
hey guys i tried to serch it but didnt find anythin helpful.
can some one help me with puttin my ignition leads back on for my coil packs. my mate took them off and we/i got no idea which goes where, this leading/trailing thing has got me stumped. does each rotor, have like top spark plugs are leading and bottom is trailing or vice versa? and with the coil packs, does one set control lead and the other trail? Cheers Carl |
This info is in the Haynes manual, as well as the FSM which can be downloaded from the FAQ.
The leading coil goes to the lower plug holes, the ones marked "L" on the housings. Doesn't matter which wire goes to which plug. The trailing coils go to the upper plugs, those marked "T" on the housing. T1 is front, T2 is rear. All basic information like this can be found in the Haynes and FSM. |
thanks mate,
can u post a link to where i can download this from? my computer skills kinda lack lol Thanks Carl |
Look at the top of the coils - there should be embossed:
L1 L2 T1 T2 For positions - using mnemonics: L1 - leading, front - front / lower L2 - leading, rear - rear / lower T1 - trailing, front - front / top T2 - trailing, rear - rear / top Note, swapping L1 and L2 doesn't matter. -Ted |
cheers mate, thats wat i was after !
i dont see how swapping l1 and l2 dusnt matter? isnt each rotor out by 90 degress? |
The FAQ is that huge red link at the top of this forum. It is impossible to miss.
L1 and L2 fire at the same time. |
