Ignition coil going bad?
I was told that one of my coils os going bad. I thought that either they are good or they are bad. Either shes pregnant or shes not. When a wire goes bad the electrons stop. Otherwise the will pass through the wire. Am I on the right path here? They just dont fade away. Is there a test that I can perform with a multi-meter? Do we have an online service manual? Any one, any one, Beuler? Thanks for your help in advance, Mag:Wconfused

The third thread on this site has a link to the Factory Service Manual. Or Google ROTORWIKI and look there. The Lead coil does most of the work. It has but one coil. I'd look there is I thought I had a coil problem. Make sure the TRAIL plug wires are on the right spots. Crossed TRAIL plug wires cause weird problems and failed engines. |
I changed out the 40 amp fuse under the hood and she started up. Thanks for your help guys! Mag

yeah ignition coils rarely fail on FC's. they are the strongest ignition system of any rotary car and are actually considered upgrades for FD's.
