Uh, something does not compute here. In a normally running ignition system, if you disconnect ANY leading plug wire, the engine will stall. The reason for this is that there is only 1 coil firing both leading plugs. That coil is not grounded. The circuit goes from coil terminal 1, leading plug 1, leading plug 2 (via engine block ground), and back to terminal 2. Disconnect any leading plug wire, you break the circuit. Two possible reasons I can think of may account for this. One, you have the plug wires crossed. The leading plug you disconnected that did not stall the engine is actually going to one of the trailing coils. Two, you have a really bad plug wire. If the plug wire disconnected was arcing to ground, it would still fire the other leading plug. Anyway, the only way to check this properly when you get the plug wires correctly installed and/or replaced, is to ground the plug wire you are disconnecting (leading plugs only). Hope this helps.
