If you're using an apexi s-afc do you need the fuel cut defender from racing beat?

?:)

yes, you need a fuel cut defender, but it doesnt HAVE to be from racing beat.

WhiteRx7 04-27-02 04:23 PM

thanks funklord, but doesn't the fuel cut modify the mass air sensor signal that goes to the ecu and the apexi unit intercept and taps to that wire and modify it before it enters the ecu also? wouldn't this be a conflict?

No the FCD effects the signal from the boost sensor not the AFM.

You are correct however that the SAFC effects the AFM signal too the ECU.

thanks rx7 turbo2.

The S-AFC modifies the signale from the AFM to trick the CU into giving more or less fuel.

The FCD prvents the factory fuel cut at 7 psi or so (?) by modifying the boost pressure sensor to cap out at maybe 3V or so- indicating no more than stock boost.

This is what lead to bad leanout and engine boom, becaue the ECU isn't putting in enough fuel- it thinks boost is lower than is!

Man I love my N/A computer!
