Idling problem

I can't figure out why my 88 2nd gen RX7, non-turbo, is not idling properly. We removed the emissions and now it runs really bad at 3000 and lower, idles at 2000 and dies. The exhaust is really, really hot. Thanks for all your help.

Is it very uneven and bouncing when it does idle? If so, it sounds like you have a vac leak you could suck a cat through. Search around for methods of finding vac leaks. After that I'd check the TPS adjustment and idle speed screw on top of the TB.

I also have a broken injector on the primary fuel rail.

well there is your problem....injectors cause BIG vac leaks...replace it...and replace the o-rings and grommets too.

does someone know y my exhaust is so hot

RX7 exhausts are seriously hot anyway, but if you're running too lean (like you would with a vacuum leak) it will be worse. When verifying vacuum leaks, make sure you check the UIM and LIM gaskets. If they are worn out or brittle and torn they will cause major vacuum leaks that will definately screw up idle.
