Idle problem and throttle response problems???

So i just put in my AFM and my car started up fine and idled fine so i drove around

and floored it just to have some fun b/c my car was running again :) then about a

half hour later my car died at a stop light then it took around 10 to 15sec to start

then it started and i tried flooring it again and theres no response it takes a while

just to get to 40mph while flooring it and so i get to my house and its idling

crappy like jumping from 1000rpm to 1500 rpm constantly and sometimes dies

any solutions??? :(

PLEASE HELLPPP!!!

Did you check TPS?

Aaron Cake 11-26-06 09:49 AM

Checked for vacuum leaks? Like a big one between the AFM and throttle body?

junito1 11-26-06 09:51 AM

is your afm even plugged in? maybe it came loose

13b_4_me 11-26-06 07:34 PM

yea ive checked everything and i forgot to mention how do u take that annoying

buzzer sound off it keeps warning me about low coolant but my coolant is just fine

but the resevor is kinda overfilled and my oil pressure gauge is dropped all the

way down idk what the heck is wrong??? can it be b/c theres theres no oil

pressure??? or what please help guys thanks...

FCKing1995 11-26-06 07:47 PM

well if your oil pressure gauge stopped reading or reads low after the whole car not cranking and idling bad thing, then it could be osmething serious internaly

junito1 11-26-06 07:50 PM

eeek. No oil pressure.... bad news man.

I would check the guage and sensor. if they are in good working order and you still get low oil pressure readings... you might end up rebuilding something.

13b_4_me 11-26-06 07:56 PM

But now my car idles good and theres still no oil pressure indicated on the gauge ...

theflatlander 11-26-06 10:00 PM

^check the to see if the wire to the sending unit is connected ifso it might jsut be a bad sending unit.

13b_4_me 11-26-06 10:09 PM

sending unit??? where is that located at and what exactly is the sending unit???

13b_4_me 11-27-06 11:02 AM

So yea i drove my car down the street and it works fine all the way till about 4000rpms then it kind of takes for ever to reach ^rpm

theflatlander 11-27-06 12:09 PM

the sending unit is below the oil filter(it sends a signal for how much oil pressure), there should be a yellow wire that is clipped on a lot of times the clip can fall off. And now it sounds like your secondary injectors aren't kicking in so now check the pressure sensor to see if it's not plugged in or maybe the vacuum line came off.

You stole my name!!! :icon_no2:

13b_4_me 11-28-06 10:02 AM

13b_4_me 11-28-06 10:03 AM

Oooo crap lolz :)

13b_4_me 11-28-06 10:07 AM

Alright ill check that so yea still a noooobb lol im gonna need to know where the pressure sensor is located and where exactly are the injectors thanks...

13b_4_me 11-29-06 11:12 AM

hey "theflatlander" you were right about the yellow wire thanks my oil pressure gauge is working again just need to fix one other problem so u said it can be my secondary injectors???

theflatlander 11-29-06 04:42 PM

There's a black sensor on the passenger wheel well with the number 327 or something, check to see if maybe the vacuum line came off or check the connectors might have some corrosion on them or maybe its a bad sensor.

13b_4_me 12-31-06 11:09 PM

Ok

NJGreenBudd 12-31-06 11:35 PM

glad to hear your oil pressure is reading correctly again.

You stole his name man........ that's uncanny. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha
But seriously look around wherever you were just working in the engine bay, even if you only worked on the AFM u might have unknowingly unplugged/kinked/bent/ripped off/lost/killed something else with your elbow or tool. Look for any unkkoked connectors that should be plugged in, look for jumpers that should be taken out, anything leaking, dripping, smelly??

Good luck.
Happy new years.
