Idle Control Valve? *Help*
Looking to buy a 87' rx7 turbo that has something wrong with it when it idles and doesn't run. He had some mechanic who knows all about rx7 check it out and said it just need a new Idle Control Valve...
Anybody know what this dudes talking about and where/how much it would cost for one? Thanks |
Not a clue. BEWARE!

Thanks for your useless input...
Failure of the BAC valve (the main idle control valve) is uncommon. Read this page, do the checks described and get back to us with your findings. http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/articles/idle.html |

Perhaps you know where the ICV is located? |
yeah, i talked to this forum member too, and i told him the exact same thing, Never heard of it and perhaps he's talking about the BAC valve.. i think he should have the car compression checked and checked out by someone who knows what they are doing.

It's not very likely the BAC valve actually needs to be replaced, as they rarely fail and there are more likely causes of FC idle problems. But none of us have actually inspected the car or been provided with a proper description of the problem, so the mechanic may well be right. Perhaps you know where the ICV is located? |
You win!
