ideas for newly sponsered car

i have a 1987 SE model and i have a starting budget of $2500. more will come later. i want to get the engine done first and am looking at putting the s5 turbo engine in it but i want more power than the stock engine has.....any ideas as to what i should do with that starting budget? i am only looking at engine mods here and the best i can get for the money.

Without knowing what you're going to be using the car for (autoX, drag racing) its impossible to know what mods you'll want to do. :)

What does all of that have to do with being sponsored?
You're not breaking new ground in terms if what you are doing, and all your questions could've been answered if you read the FAQ stickie at the top of the page?

yeah, so whats this about being sponsored? I'm pretty sure if your car is going to be sponsored, you would have to have a good idea of what you wanted to do in the beginning to get someone to sponsor you. My old FC was sponsor for a local company only after I had a really good spreadsheet of my plans, prices, ideas, and whatnot.

oh and $2,500 is really much for an FC to do much. To really stand out, try adding another zero.

Funny reading about SCP's so-called "sponsorship"...

Most likely a continuation of the sponsership scam that was going around a couple years ago, co. (I cant remeber their name) out of Delaware

Do you have the $2500 in hand?

What kind of racing do you inted to do? I suspect from the question that you have never done any racing or even read a rule book. Unless you are drag racing or maybe drifiting there are no classes for entry level people that allow any kind of engine mods. The only exception is SOLO II and there are no classes that a 2nd Gen RX-7 is competative.

wow, if you can get your 87 SE Sponsored, then I'm going to start looking for sponsors for my 3cyl geo metro! w0000t! :P hoping to be the first to break the 21 second barrior in the 1/4 :D hehe

ok well, the sponership (sorry, type-o..."sponsorhip", i got it right the first time) is leget, i have the contract in hand and have had it read over by my lawyer. it is to be a show car and for racing on the side......i have $2500 to start with and only need that money for under the hood.....i have many contacts that can hook me up with the rest and the money i will bring in later.....i can do a lot more on am smaller budget thanks to my friends. like a rebuilt motor for $500...ya, ported and all. i guess i will keep my questions to my friends here, they seem to have the right ideas for spending the little cash i have and getting the best out of it, thanks anyway.

i dont do competitive racing like that....i do a bunch of friends with moslty their modded Porsche 944 turbo's and my car go and rent a track for the day and we race our hearts out. its fun and give's good experience for the feel of your car. plus, its amazing how little things make the car better and how driver ability.....not longivity of experience.....wins the race. i am just out to have fun, and hopefully show up a few Porsches. and yes, i do have the $2500 in hand.

And you're what 16, 17?

Have you read about this company at all?

Have they given you your 2500 dollars?

What exactly are you advertising for them that they deem you worthy of a fairly large sponsorship?

...you realize people just don't -give- you money, right? :bigthumb:

Oh, and for future reference, you might want to contact your sponsOr not your sponsEr.

the $2500 is MY money that i have saved. they pay a portion of parts and labor up to $12000. they help you get parts and labor cheaper. in return they ask for you to attened 4 car shows in a year. and i know people dont just give you money, thats why i work for it. and i am 19. i read the post about this company on here....and its mostly wrong...whoever posted all that info didnt read their contract in detail. to pick on my age is insignificant to anything here. until you can drive like i can, work the court system aswell as i can, and have the contacts i do within this wonderful car world.....i ask you leave age out and put ability to the test....its the true factor.

SonicRaT 10-19-05 02:01 PM

fuck it, not worth it.
