Learn to use the search feature.

S4 = '86-'88
S5 = '89-'92

Project84 12-27-02 03:47 PM

86-88 is S4
89-92 is S5
you have a S5. The mileage doesn't matter as much. Its all how the car was driven, and whether or not it was properly maintained.

Mephis 12-27-02 03:48 PM

Thx , and that also applys to tail lights,do the S4's have the round tails to , and its the S3's that have thoes ugly lookin tails

Mephis 12-27-02 03:50 PM

well b4 i got it , it must have had the life cause the aas is working great at 100,000miles , so i guess it was well taken care of , and it is an auto so i doubt it was driven hard , in the spring alota things are gona change on my car!

Aaron Cake 12-27-02 03:51 PM

Holy shit......SEARCH!

S5 = Round tail lights
S4 = Rectangle tail lights
S3 = FIRST GEN!

Mephis 12-27-02 03:53 PM

OK then. So you've made 164 posts since you registered in Aug., and not one of them has been even remotely useful, nor even readable.

And people wonder why the members with the knowledge are leaving this forum in herds...

Since you are above common courtesy, I will not be answering any more of your questions. I urge others to do the same.

Ha ha, Aaron, you are snappy! I agree that this guy posts like an idiot with writing skills that I had when I was in the first grade, but puuuuulllleeezzzeee! Just ignore him. Think like the Buddha. There is no weakness like anger :)

I like your turbo N/A. If I can't find a cheap supercharger I may just do the turbo conversion myself, but then I will have to mess with wastegates, blowoff valves, intercoolers, a new ECU . . .

dr0x 12-27-02 04:12 PM

Whyd you make everything plural except the ecu? Turbo iis have 1 waste gate, 1 intercooler, 1 blow off valve.

I think it is because I am Turbo-Illiterate!!!

One crazy idea I have it to take a turbo impellor, you know, cut it from the exhaust fan (if that is even what it is called), gear it somehow for 1:20ish, put a pulley on it and house it all for the intake piping to the surge tank.. Viola! A homebuilt centrifugal supercharger.

I really like the simplicity and lower intake temps possible with supercharging. I want to see this Tesla supercharger get produced but not using an electric motor like the guy originally proposed. If it had a conventional belt drive and sold for $1000ish for the kit, I would be all over it :)
