I need help! stupid security system

so my security system cpu is toast, I cant start my car and and my alarm wont turn off. I have to have the key in the ignition and in the on position to keep the thing quiet. has anyone cut the dam thing out of the system? I dont like to say it, but I am really starting to hate this car.

security help

If the car you're having trouble with is the '89 in your sig then you need to locate the security "cpu" ( drivers kick panel just above and forward of the fuse box) and look for the wire that is light green/black trace and ground it. This will "disarm" the factory alarm and keep it disarmed.:icon_tup: Good luck. Tom G

Or turn the Key in the door to the unlock position. The key in the doors or trunk to unlock, will disarm the factory system.

Is the factory security light blinking? On all the time? Or not on at all?

factory disarm

I should have mentioned that the light green with black trace is the factory disarm wire (on s5 cars) and grounding it permanently will disarm the factory security system for good. I use this wire when installing aftermarket systems and dont want the factory alarm inadvertantly arming or disarming or when the factory system is malfuntioning like yours is.

the light blinks once when I turn the key off, the driver side door lock cylinder hasnt armed/disarmed since I bought the car. And apparently the pass. side one wouldnt disarm it either. So basically grounding that light green/ black wire will nullify the system allowing me to go on with the rest of my life?

According to what he said :P

yeah when you lock the door driver side with the key it arms/disarms

well actually if you have an aftermarket alarm, you want to use the unlock pulse to provide a ground to that wire, not permanently disarming it by grounding it forever.

See you want the customer to be able to arm the factory security if he or she wants in addition to any aftermarket alarm, making the car twice as hard to hot wire and steal.

The factory system uses a great circuit to detect if a door has been slim jimed. No aftermarket system does that. If the door is unlocked (not even opened) without the key or a momentary pulse to that wire, the alarm will trigger before the door is even opened!

Grounding it permanently simply makes the car that much easier to steal.

To arm the factory system, you need to lock the door with the door open, then hold the exterior handle up and close the door.

That arms the factory alarm.

Just locking the door won't arm the factory system.

Dis-arming the alarm, is done by using the key in any door or the hatch/trunk and turning to the unlock position.

And we are talking about the factory Orange panel that says Security when we are talking about the light... right? If the light is not on, or blinking constant once every other second, then the factory system is not armed and not disabling the car from starting.

And the Key in the ignition does not disarm the factory system. It triggers it.

see my comments in the post above. Permanently grounding the wire is Micky Mouse. Fix the car, don't hack it up and make it worse.
