I need help from all you 13b-re Guys
 

I'm just about to wrap up my install of a 13b-re into a s5 1991 vert...I just finished the haltech install e6x...Now I'm faced with the problem of the oil metering pump (I guess its the thingy on the passenger side of the intake mani...I ripped out all of the hoses and things under the manifold so theres nothing left, hopefully that won't affect the stock twins I'm Keeping (my tuner said all I needed to save were the 2 siliniods and the turbo actuators which are by the turbos...he said thats all i need for the haltech to control them). I still have the stock computer installed with just the right most plug plugged in (I guess that controls all of the other stuff such as gauges - hell i dont know!!! should the whole computer be taken out???). Sorry I got off topic. How will the oil metering pump work??? do i even need it?? ...I will post a link with pics in a few minutes...

You can get the best information for your install in the Haltech section. Most of the guys in this section will be using stock EFI and TII engines.

On the cosmo swap, I just did as most do and blocked off the OMP. I run premix as the power levels I'm running surpass the lubrication capacity of the stock pump. You should not need to keep the stock ECU for any reason. The Haltech can probably control the electric OMP if you wish to use one.

how reliable is premixing??? what happens when I only got $25 in my pocket and I get gas then I have to figure out how many gal (not many with the prices these days!!!) and mix it!!!!

I usually buy gas in gallons rather than dollars. That makes finding your premix amount easier.

$20/$4 per gallon = 5 gallons. Put in 1/2 ounce of premix per gallon of gas before filling up.

Premixing is plenty reliable. It does the same thing the OMP does, put oil in the combustion chamber, in larger amounts.

Do a search for premix or premixing and I'm sure there will be tons of threads on it.

ok now if your car is not a daily driver and you only drive on weekends...does the gas and oil separate??? Im paraniod that the engine will not get enough lubrication...I'm searching now!!!!

None of the e6's can and I and I'm not sure about the e11. Easiest way is to block it off and premix or put a s4 tii front cover on the engine and use the mechanical omp. You might just have to fab the oil return in that case, Im not sure they're the same.

The 13b-re only has two oil injectors, you cannot use the S4 OMP as it has four oil lines.

premix with a 2cycle oil that has tcw3 . it will prevent separation if that what concerns you. i have a 13bre on mine ,i premix and only drive tha car once a week. premix all the way . much cleaner inside the engine

Yes, I put one ounce per gallon of gas. You can get the premix for cheap at walmart, but most gas stations sell it for around $2-4 for 32 ounces which is enough for 2 full tanks.

Small tip: get the kind that has the little clear strip on the side. That way you can tell how much you are putting in. I have an extra empty bottle in my car just in case they don't have any at the station. I'll just dump the other bottle in that and then I can tell how much i'm putting in.

Uh, you could make two new Y lines which go into 4, and just forget about premixing, that's what I did.

^ UH, you need two lines not four, but UH, whatever works for YA. Post up pics of your custom TB linkage that you created to hook the S4 OMP to the Cosmo TB.

BklynRX7 is right.
None of the Haltech E6-series ECU's can control the stock E-OMP.
The Haltech E8 / E11 ECUs can.

You can just getto-rig the 4-channel OMP into two oil injectors just by blocking off the two extra holes.
No big deal.
Premixing is recommended.

One other thing...The stock ECU doesn't control any of the gauges. The ECU can be removed and thrown in the trash (rather, sold on eBay) if you have a standalone. It's only purpose in life was to control the engine.

Premix from Wal-Mart is the way to go because it’s cheap and burns nice and clean.

You could get yourself a funnel from Pepboys that works GREAT it already has the measurements on the side and it came with an open & close valve, a nice long tube from the funnel itself to insert into the gas tank and caps for both ends. It’s everything in one. I keep it with a gallon of 2cycle in my storage bin.
