I Just Bought A 1988 Rx7 Convertible...I Need help

So, i got a good deal on an 88' convertible, (pictures to come, i just got it) Beyond the obvious need to fix the top a little, (and i need to find a boot for the top, plz help) The window control does not work, the clock restarts everytime the car does, and the pioneer head unit will turn on, but turn back off.
So i guess i need electrical help first, then info about engine work. Its N/A for now, but its destined for a turbo, but i need to work on idle, running a little rich, and vibration at speeds over 60 (has new tires, alignment, balancing...im so confused)
So all you pros out there, please give me a hand?
Thanks so much.

First thing to fix/ replace is the blown room fuse. That will take care of your clock and warning issues.

window control: First check the fuses. If they're good, get a multimeter. Remove door panel (easy, just some screws and snap on tabs). Find where there is 12V and where there is no voltage. Do this starting at the window motor (hold the switch on). and keep tracing back until you get 12V. The last spot where you get no voltage is the bad component. Replace it.

idle, running rich: Find the RX-7 grounding guide at www.aaroncake.net. Do everything, or at least the ECU grounds. That's just for starters. You might need to do more from there.

Use forum search tool: clock, NA to turbo conversion.

other stuff: I dunno. I'd have the suspension inspected, including the rear toe ("DTSS") bushings.

Have your shop recheck the tire balance, just for grins. They do occasionally make mistakes.

So far so good.

I got the electrical to work, a few fuses, now the door lights work, dome light, head unit, ect. Yay! Great success! :rlaugh: And the vibrations have calmed down, i got a good idea on how to fix the idle, i can't tell if its still running rich or not, if i cant tell, thats prob cuz its not. ^.^ Still no cigar for the convertible boot...:( I'm learning that a turbo convert is going to be quite the process. Thanks for the advice so far, its looking better and better so far. I'll throw more questions out there as they arise.

what is wrong with the idle?

It was just low

Needed a tune up, and i turned the idle control a little, worked like a charm. Just waiting on my shifter bushings, motor, and tranny mounts to come in. ^.^ what all should i do to increase power for my poor little NA motor. I'm too lazy, and broke to do a T2 Swap, and all that good business. Any recommendations, I'm listening. Thanks everyone.

might check your drive shaft. mine was missing a bolt that gave me a similar shake at speed
