I can never win, someone please help me.

Alright here's my story. When to add a ground to the EFI harness today. Took off the UIM, got to where the ring terminal is screwed down to the block. Added a run of 4awg wire from there to the ground on the firewall. I kept the orig. ground there, just added the new one on top of it. In the process I went to replace the ground from the bellhousing to the same spot on the firewall, but the bolt head snapped off. I decided to run a 4awg wire from where the UIM meets the LIM to the same ground spot on the firewall.

I got all this done, put the whole car back together, and it wont start. Just cranks but shows no sign of wanting to start. Things that I have noticed: the tach needle does not jump at all. Also, while removing the wire off the alternator (negative battery terminal off) I accidently caused a spark while taking the nut off, could that have blown a fuse somewhere?

Somebody please help me figure this out. Thank you.

Check fuses.

Check the vacuum hoses and electrical connectors around the throttle body/intake manifolds. I don't think the ground wire is the issue.

I dont think its the grounding either, Im thinking I may have fried a fuse when was taking the alternator wire off. I dont think a vac hose would cause the tach to not move, it alwas jumps a bit when I crank the car.

The alt wire shouldnt have sparked when the battery was disconnected so something doesnt make sense.

If it still cranks over that means your main fuse isnt blown. If the tach doesnt jump it's an issue with trailing coils. Check the basics fuel and spark.

All of you, please stop bitching. All of your e-penises are gigantic.

And Noob, use the search. If you can't come up with an answer after a few minutes, then ask away. People are here to help, but when the same shit gets asked every day it gets old.

Read the FAQ, and download the FSM's.

Good luck with your car.

James
