I broke the vacuum delay valve

The vacuum line between the double throttle diaphragm and the back of the throttle body has a delay valve in the line. On my 87 N/A the vacuum line where it connected to the diaphragm had a crack in it. When I pulled it off, the plastic nipple of the delay valve broke off. I just replaced the vaccum line without the delay valve. What have I screwed uo? I don't know what the function of this valve is. Then, where can I buy a replacement? Thanks.

If need be, you can purcgase a new one at Mazdatrix. Also, the diaphragm doesn't add much to the drivabilty of the car in addition to many saying their's went kaput many years ago and have since capped them off. If you just wanted to cap off the system all is required is to plug the hose coming from the thermo valve (the plastic nozzle part located off the rear of the throttle body). The actual diaphragm uses the vacuum or lack of it to make the component move a lever so there is no vacuum leak created by not plugging the diaphragm itself because it just uses vacuum as opposed to creating it.
