I am losing coolant, No big deal though.
 

Seems my radiator has a hole or a crack in it. The bottom passenger side is quite wet and I see a drip the size of a quarter on my drivway in the morning.

I have been adding coolant to the overflow tank and I have been maintaining the coolant level an inch or two above the cold mark (when cold).

So my radiator needs to be fixed/replaced. Not too much of a big deal, really, but I'm wondering if there is a cheap way out.


Can I use any of that liquid Bars Leak or any other coolant goo?? Is it really that bad for a rotary engine?? What if I remove the radiator and then throw bars leak in it? Is there any other type of home-brew glue I can use to save myself the 100-300 bux???

Check the drain plug first to see if its tight. Its located in that area.

Im reading my manuals now to get the location of this plug. Can I get at it from the hood? I dont eally want to start my car (its got a winter cover on it) just to put it on some ramps.

Not likely. You may be able to get to it by just laying on the ground. (brrr)

OK I was able to check it on my back... Screw was tight and dry, also the locatin of the drain plug is right in the middle of the radiator. My leak is no the passenger side, almost seems like a lower radiator hose or that other little hose but both are dry.

The actual leak is on the front of the radiator. I can see drops dangling (4-5) from the front most part of the radiator.

Felix, thanx for your advise but I think my radiator is shot. How about some gunk to seal it up?????

The endtank may be cracked, I dunno if that will help. Also I had the seam where the plastic and metal meet leak on one of my cars. I guess try the gunk and see if it helps till you can get another radiator......

i live in Guilford, it is on the shoreline, right in the middle. Guilford is 40 minutes south of Hartford, and 15 minutes East of New Haven.
