Huge starter/ wiring problem
I have 3 starters and they all do the same exact thing. When I turn the key the solenoid will click but the engine wont turn. After a few more tries it might turn over if im lucky but it sounds like the solenoid keeps engaging and disengaging. 3 starters....same thing for every one of them so its a wiring or relay problem for sure. Any ideas? it seems to me the solenoid isnt getting the adequate power it needs. Is this a common problem? Sorry for starting a new thread but I need to fix this thing or im screwed. :wallbash:

Starter
Are you sure your battery is good? A low battery won't have the power to turn the starrer. Three bad starters seems like pretty long odds.

turns out that the battery was good while it wasnt cranking the starter but when it was trying to turn it over....the voltage dropped down to 9 or so. Its also bad wiring from the ignition switch which results in a loss of a volt or so. New battery time i guess.

The voltage drop sounds normal ....to me anyway.
I'd wager the real problem will be found when you change out the old ignition switch to a new one. |
