How to tell if the engine is level WRT the mounts?

Back to muffler's not being level...

I wonder if it has anything to do with the engine not sitting in the correct position on the motor mounts?

You know, leaning one way or the other?

Can the motor mount positions be adjusted so the engine sits completly upright in the engine bay?

If it was tilted towards the right or left this would change the angle of the exhaust mounting surface essentially twisting the entire exhaust system...

Is there a way to confirm that the engine is sitting right?

Thanks!

well, you might check your mounts...
I suppose if you had a cracked mount or two, it would twist the engine... other than that, it should be secure and level (ie. theres no real way for it to be out of alignment, it's bolted down after all ;)) (this is assuming you haven't twisted some metal support bits of course... but before you start worrying about that I'd look elsewhere... like the mounts... :D)

I'm pretty sure that nothing is broken. BUT

I remember having to really push up hard on the passenger side trans mount to get the bolts close enough to start them in to the floor. The driver's side, which I started first was a breeze....
