how replace u joints on mazdatrix driveshaft?
I got a TII diff and I need to replace the flange on the mazdatrix driveshaft... I dont know much about u joints.. If anyone has advice I would appreciate it, thanks.

can't you just re-drill the n/a flange to make it work?
also i think there is some ring like clips inside it that you have to remove with those pointy pliers. |

the c-clips that hold the joints in are on the inboard side of the joints, pop them out with a hammer and screwdriver.
rest is walking the joints out with a press and some drifts, aka sockets. just use any u-joint writeup on the webs for the modified shaft. start on page 5: http://autorepair.about.com/od/fixit...al-Joint_5.htm |

to add to that for those referencing this thread.. make sure your work area is clean . the little tiny cylinders in the cap can end up all over the place if your not careful... the u joint mazdatrix uses is fairly common... so if it does get contaminated etc most parts stores carry them. |
