How much would you pay for my car

Well like the title says I need some help estimating the value of my car. It is a red 91 NA manual with 73k original everything. Bone stock except for SS brake lines and tokico 5 way adjustables with 20k I believe on them. Interior is in pristine condition and paint still shines deep. Never abused and always babied even before I owned it. I knew the previous owner personally and knew he never abused it.

What do you guys think it's worth? I am looking to sell it and get a TII but need to know how much I can get for my car now.

It just isnt practical for me to do a TII swap as my miles are so low.

Pictures are in sig below. Thanks all for reading.

3k max would be my bid.

I would think that you should be able to get 4k for it without much of a problem.

Sorry forgot to mention that I paid $3800 for it. The KBB, although not always accurate is about $4800.

Mechanical condition is flawless. Everything works except antennae and wipers only work on slow. Little things count I guess.

like we used to say in the car biz, there's an ass for every seat. my suggestion, detail it, put a for sale sign in the window and drive it. I just paid $5200 for a white 88 vert cause I wanted it. Someone will see yours and do the same.

A nice clean used car is easily worth 5-6000 to someone willing to pay it, and we are out there.

It's extremely rare to see a 12 year old car in "EXCELLENT" condition by KBB standards. You can get $4000 for it i bet

Ya, I say $4k is the limit. To be honest, if you just got some cheap rims, it would make the sale sooo much easier to some kid.

$4K being the limit is ridiculously closed minded.... if it is that clean, drive it, let it be seen and snag the one with bucks that has to have it

ilike2eatricers 08-12-03 06:58 PM

I would have to say it is rediculously clean. Im gonna go home later and take some interior/exterior pix close up so you guys can be the judge.

I would say $4K is definitely easy, at least here in the bay area. Maybe around $4500 if you're lucky.

I sold my '88 SE with 70K original miles and it too was ridiculously clean. I got $3300 for it. I'll see if I can get the new owner of my SE to come by this Saturday and you can check it out yourself.

if you wait for a decent buyer 4k+ shouldn't be a problem.

KBB price in my area is about $4,100 for excellent condition. If the car is really in excellent shape, and the tires, brakes, etc., are in excellent shape, then I think the car is worth $4,000 to $4,500, so you may just want to ask $5,000obo and see if you get any hits. The cold air intake reduces the value for most people, but some kid would really like it. Tokicos have a lifetime warranty, so that's good in anybody's book. The antenna is an easy fix. The wipers may be really bad juju, but most people don't know that. ;) Are the SS brake lines DOT approved?

Thanks for the reply EvilAviator.

Brakes are excellent and tires are in pretty good shape. I still have the stock air box just in case so that is not a problem. I am not sure about the SS brake lines but they were ordered from racing beat.

Unfortunately, the Racing Beat SS lines are not DOT approved, so technically they are not street legal. They are probably several times better than the stock lines, but they have not gone through the approval process. Just make sure you disclose this to the new buyer so you don't get sued. FYI for when you get your TII, Mazdatrix sells DOT SS lines for under $100.

Are the tires and brakes in "pretty good" shape, or "excellent" shape? That could knock $300 off the price of the car right there, which is why it is important to know these things when buying a car.

That's good that you kept the stock air box.
