How much for a replacement Vert Rear Body Section?
I found the whole back end, the body that is, since on my son's 90 Vert is "one piece", not quarter panels etc, what is a good price for a replacement? Found one close to me, but have not idea on a price. Suggestions please.

I payed 200 dollars for an entire rear quarter panel from a 2002 rav 4.
For the back half of a much older car, no more than 300. It would be cheaper to find a rolling chassis thats good and buy that. |
It is a used one, no rust or dents. I'm thinking about 3-500. Sound about right ?

I wouldn't pay that much. I gave $500 for my whole car.

Yeah, nice, but I got estimates for the bodywork to be done on it, 1600 cheapest. Now, my buddy helping me move hit the car. I'm sorry, but I don't screw my friends out of favors, or money, so I am trying to make this as painless for him as possible. A guy the other day offered me 3500 for the car, as is, not even looking under the hood. I will fix my son's car, not sell it, or let him either, and do right for my buddy. Just want a price I can work with.
Sorry for being so righteous. I don't screw friends, don't want a 500 dollar POS, and will never not have this car, or maybe another one or two, be out of my familes possession. They are priceless as far as I am concerned. PEACE THE DOG, and now, I will go have a drink, thank you!!!!!!! |
3500 for the car is an incredible price. S5 verts are available any day in good shape for 3500 with under 100k miles near san diego.

umm... ok.
Anyway, I didn't follow any of what you said very well. I don't exactly get your point. But really, how bad is the damage? Do you know if the frame is damaged? You love the car, I understand, I feel the same about mine but if I ware rear-ended, or whatever, I'd probably try and find another 7 that has a straight body and bad motor, and swap over what I wanna keep. Or just find another 7 in good condition and part my damaged one. I had a white convertible 88, motor went bad, and I ended getting impatient and just buying another white convertible 89. I figured I'd just let go of the 88. The funny part about it, is I love both cars the same, and I don't want to sell the 88. But come on, they're the same thing. A 7 is a 7 is a 7. (I'll probaby keep my s4 and port the motor, lol) Either way, it looks like you'd be spending the same amount of money. If I were doing the work myself, I'd rather swap a motor than fix a damaged rearend. But that's just me. |

The rear of the vert doesn't have a driver's side, and passenger's side quarter panel. It is one piece. And I would buy another one for "parts", but nothing either close enough, or worth paying the money for.
I'm doing two things with one deal-fixing the car myself, and saving my friend some money. As I have stated before, RX or not, a car is a car. A true friend is priceless. I will keep my friend, and still do the car myself. PEACE THE DOG |
