how much to pre-mix?
i just sold my 10ae and i was telling the guy that i sold it to that he has to premix the fuel cuz the OMP is removed....now considering i've only pretty much been working on the car and not really driving it...
i completed forgot how much premix you're supposed to use. i thought it was about 5oz/tank (20g) correct me if i'm wrong but i really don't remember and this is kinda need to know information. thanks |
many people run an ounce to a gallon, some run half ounce to every gallon.
or in ratio term 1:128 for ounce to gallon 1:256 for half ounce to gallon I personally wont do anything more then an ounce to gallon, thats just too much. |
thanks

From personal experience, never ask the guys at Autozone for advice on premixing. You CANNOT run premix in ANY car. PERIOD!!!

It is Just SO reliable. One of the things that I did when I got the car was to find a Parts manual and a workshop manual, and a Haynes(it tells you some stuff). Then I set my Homepage to www.rx7club.com ! To me,that is INFO! |
I previously ran about 150:1 on my last engine. Ran it like that the whole time after a fresh rebuild. The engine eventually shat an apex seal after 60k miles and when I tore it down I found that it was definitely due to excessive seal chatter on the housings. I can't be sure it was due to the premix, but now I am running about double that.

I Run 1/2 Ounce Per Gallon, cause i'm N/A. My Fellow TII buddys and FD buddies here in AZ run 1 ounce per gallon.
Now Granted, OUR OMPS STILL WORK...... we hope lmao |
1oz of oil per 1gal of gasoline. It's a bit on the heavy side but easy to remember and will be enough for heavy load duties.

I've been running an 1oz per gallon for 2 years now with no problems. Also, I havent heard of anyone having a problem with too much lube on their apex seals. Which is the only thing that oil is doing.

1/2 OZ per gallon. all day every day.

Street driving: 1 oz per 1.5 gallons. (some people say 1 oz per 2 gallons but i think anything over 200:1 is too risky)
Track Driving: 1 oz per 2 gallons. |

LMAO, Lobster... I was about to question why you'd run LESS premix in a harsher environment. Does your OMP still function? |

If you want to do it the easy way, stick to 1oz oil per 1gal fuel. If you want to get more particular about it, do 1oz/1gal ratio on dyno day/track day/drive the crap out of the car day or half ounce/1 gal for normal driving.

I think Brian read it the way i meant to type it.
1oz per gallon for track. For street we do about 10oz per fillup (roughly 15 gal fillup) |

A little over 1/2 OZ per gallon here.
|
Depends who you ask.
My tuner (Dave at KDR) says that 8oz per tank of quality oil is more than enough for the harshest conditions. I run 8oz per fillup and I only use Amsoil. |
I have an 87 turbo II with a s5 keg s4 electronics with all emissions and OMP removed I run 100:1 TC-W3 certified oil with no problems whatsoever.
