How many of you guys use 1200cc secondaries?

And are they true 1200cc injectors or bored out like what RC engineering does? I've been looking for 1200cc secondaries for my ride and can't find them anymore, except ones for methanol use only.

thanks for any help guys :)

anyone? bump

I sure don't, I can only wish to need secondarys that big some day. ;)

Rpeck 01-14-04 05:27 PM

I have never heard of 1200cc injectors that will fix a 7 in the stock locations. I had my 1000cc's made by RC Eng. out of brand new 720cc injectors.

SpeedFreak03 01-14-04 05:37 PM

Rpeck I havent heard of that either about 1200s that will fit in 7 stock location. haha I wish my car needed that much fuel...

1987RX7guy 01-14-04 05:39 PM

why not buy some 1600's? just tune them further down.

If he is using an S-AFC you are limited on how far up and down you can tune them +/- %50 I belive. so you need stand alone EMS, and custom fuel rail setup for the 1600's. That's why I went with 1000's anyways.

RPECK what are you running in the primary..

What's the disadvantage of having smaller injectors bored out to a larger size? I've been trying to think of one and I can't. Fill me in?

I agree, 1600cc injectors all the way, thats what I have.

720's in the Primary.

The only disadvantage to having smaller injectors bored out is the risk of failure. RC claims they can go +%50 over, but I have heard that is a dangerous level, thus why I chose to only do to 1000 on 720's only %28 over sized. I could of in theroy saved my money and had my 550's bored to 1000, but the amount of bore seemed to risky to me ... I have heard a few horror stories about bigtime over sizing.

Rpeck 01-14-04 10:31 PM

hmm,

fcturbo2 01-14-04 11:19 PM

disadvantage--price..RC charges 170 something per injectors to have a smaller bored to 1000cc...

hondah8er 01-15-04 09:04 AM

Thanks for the response's guys. RC is quite expensive yes. You should have just bought 1008cc injectors from injector.com. quite a bit cheaper then buying 720's and then boring them out for $170.00.

I guess I could run 1600 secondaries but wanted a 720x1200 setup which is more then enough fue for a 60-1 at 10-12 psi on a S4 13BT. Easier to tune also, then say 550x1600 because there isn't such a big jump from primary size to secondary size.

When I was looking for injectors I searched all over, I could not find anything over 720cc's that fit the stock location without any modifactions.

those 1008cc injectors will plug right in with nothing needed but resistors? If so I might get some for my primary slots. Can anyone confirm this?

I'd be carefull running an injector that large in the primary spot. You'll start running into issues with modulating the pulse width slowly enough to properly control fuel. Plus the dispersion of a large injector won't be what it is with the smaller ones.

I'm not really sure why people are concerned about this? I'm not aware of any problems that a good stand alone can't help? At any rate, the 550/1600 is a proven combination that works... and no need to worry about the 1600 failing like a modified injector might. The down side is that you have to modify your fuel rail.
