How long do streetported TII's last?
My question is does anyone know generally how long do mild streetported engines last on TII's from a fresh rebuild using the old rotor housings and rotors. Oh yeah also assume that the rest of the car is stock.
My next question would refer more to me. What fuel injectors should I upgrade to if I'm running in between 300-400hp. |
400? holy shit!
haltech and 1600's? am I right here guys? |
Depends on how you treat the engine. In theory, should last just as long as stock. But since I assume you want to modify a "mild street port" engine, you're going to put much more stress on it...
As far as injectors, it could be done with 4 720s and an S-AFC...But really, at that level you're going to want to look for an aftermarket EFI system. |
It should last just as long as stock, but most of the time when someone streetports a motor they end up ragging on it more. So it all depends on how you treat it.

any one know where i can get a setup to run 350 - 400 hp? Can I have a motor built with that kinda power?? Links please!

Your 2 questions here kinda rule them selves out. First your asking reliablity on a mild street port. but than 400 hp. Ask your self how long that things gunna last.

I know I can subtract time of any engine for how I drive the car and modifications I do to it. I just wanted to know if street ported engines had a shoter engine life then stock.

a 400hp motor should last as long as a 200hp motor if they're both build correctly. Actually if it's a 200hp motor stock, it could last longer @ 400hp if it's tuned properly with a good system.
At least that's my opinion on it.. improper tuning ruins engines more than their power output. |
Like the other guys have been saying, a ported engine, street, race, or even one more level (very few people do this, too many risks) monster, can last u a while, all depends on how you treat the car, if u drive it with care and do not abuse it everytime you go out, it will be reliable. Also you would have to tune it right for high Hp output.

Be sure to fuel up at quality gas stations. Cheap gas stations are inconsistent, and there is the possibility of getting a bogus tank.
