How hard is it to remove....

How hard is it to remove a Turbo and manifold from a 1990 Rx7 turbo.

I was wondering if I could save myself some money by doing it myself but if its to difficult ill just bring it to a shop.

Thanks

Joe

Any one know what tools ill need?

and a guess on how long it will take?

a few hours i think. yes the heatshield is the hardest part. i just cut mine off with a dremel. im not sure what sockets youll need. prolly just a good metric socket set.

Get a Haynes manual.

You'll need a standard socket set with metric sockets. LOTS of WD-40, and perhaps new gaskets for installation.

When I installed my DP the hardest part was getting to the bolts. I also sprayed some liquid wrench stuff on for like a half hour and it helped alot.

gecko... did i mention there is a time limit to my offer... i'm heading back to kingston for 8 months for school again... so u have to let me know before august is over

i beleive u will need a 14mm socket...its tough if u still have the heat shield on, as everyone else has said. the bottom one, i used a wrench to get that off. the two top one, i used the rachet with a 2 inch extension. it also helps if u have small hands...(one of those times when u wished u had girly hands..kekekek).

good luck, ut
