How good of an FC can I get for $2000?
 

Just wondering how good of an FC I can get for $2K. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance people.

I have seen fc's as cheap as 995 dollars in running condition. but remember you get what you pay for. Just shop around. If they are selling them really cheap there is probably a good reason for it. But I think you should be able to find a decent fc for 2000 dollars.

I agree .... you should be able to get a nice FC for $2000 .... but if you want a Turbo than it might be a lot harder.

I just picked mine up for $1,850

needed new clutch and drive shaft

interior is in great condition

body has a few nicks but all the panels are straight

i bought both mine for around 2k first one 1400 perfect condition, got me 60k miles and sold it for 1500 to boot
current one bought for 2200 but might have been better if i haggled more but that'another story any way piont is you can find one in great condition but you do need to wait and find the right one

My base 86 N/A cost me $2000. Had 125k, repaint on body, good interior with normal faded carpet. Brakes were excellent. Since purchase I put on new shocks and springs, changed out diff and trans fluids, new master and slave clutch cylinders. Had to put on new tires as well. After all that the car was and is still in great shape.

I would think you could find a nice one for that price but you will probably have to give it alittle work. Oh, had to do the re-soldering on the CPU, the wiper switch and the clock. Great car.

U dont get what u pay for when it comes to fcs. Some people sell them dirt cheap. I was selling mine on ebay for 2000 6 months ago. It had 10k on complete engine rebuild. 40k on clutch yoko tires , tps , race pads. I had performance parts for it too. Ran mint untill a short in the wiring harness occured and It needed to be replaced. Because of that now one trusted it. I replaced the wiring harness myself for 150 bucks and 10 hours and got the car runing mint again. So screw everyone. It was a series 5 too.

Do what I did. By a lightly blown fc for few hundred and get a complete engine rebuild. Quote I got was 19-2100
Ended up costing 2300 but he did an excelent job. After this I had a perfect runing car that I know will last a long time instead of always having to worry about a used one. Hope That helped.

Good advice^^ I think buying one with a blown engine is the way to go if your going to mod it.
