How to get to 230-240 rwhp on my s4 t2?

How do I do it, without turbo upgrade, and without ecu upgrade?

rick_tj 01-14-06 10:00 PM

Injectors, fuel, luck

adrock3217 01-14-06 10:25 PM

Injectors, fuel, luck
Uh...I don't even know how to respond to that.

-Full 3" exhaust (Racing Beat, Corksport, GReddy, Apex'i, etc.)
-720 secondaries
-SAFC2
-Walboro 255lph fuel pump
-3" Intake (D.I.Y. from home depot is fine and cheap..)
-Cone filter w/ some kind of heat shielding..
-Full tune up :) All oils, spark plugs, coolant, etc.
-Will all of this done, BE SURE to port you're wastegate, as with the 3" exhaust and intake the turbo will boost/spike to up to 18psi..as a note, the stock turbo should never go over 12psi (any higher will actually make less power, due to the turbo pumping hot air)

Well, you said WITHOUT ECU upgrade. This actually CANNOT be done. The stock ECU has a fuel cut to the rear rotor if you hit too much boost. You have to AT LEAST have an FCD (Fuel Cut Defenser)..You can get one of these real cheap, or make one yourself(search), or, if you want to have you're car set up to run on 720's, you can get an RTEK 1.5/1.7

Now, all of this should set you at around 240whp I'd say. If you want to do this really safely (which should be you're agenda BEFORE horsepower) you'd want an aluminum radiator (Koyo works), and a FMIC (ebay's work just fine)

Well you did include 2/3 of my ideas in your post.

adrock3217 01-14-06 10:31 PM

Well yeah, but you shouldn't preach luck to Rotary owners <.< that tends to lead to..uh..Anti-Apex Seal Syndrome

rick_tj 01-14-06 10:32 PM

Well understood. lol

sossfc3s 01-14-06 10:32 PM

230 shot of nitrous should do the trick.
fuel boost and free exhaust will help a lot. get an hks fcon helps a lot

Jaiyurai 01-14-06 10:37 PM

- port the wastegate
- bigger secondary injectors
- bigger fuel pump
- S-AFC
- boost controller
- full exhaust
- intake
- and a good tune-up

I did this a got 244rwhp @14psi with a few other things.

these things might free up a few more ponies if you have the budget.
- dual alt pulley (remove smog pump)
- lighten flywheel with a good strong clutch
- lighter wheels and tires
- good suspension setup
- aftermarket intercooler
- S5 turbo and manifold

ilovebree 01-14-06 10:53 PM

well, i have tek 1.7, if i get the hks fcon, will i need an safc2? I dont get it

walken 01-14-06 11:02 PM

if you have the 1.7 and a full tuneup, then you should go see what you put down at 12 psi.

kabooski 01-14-06 11:12 PM

FCD = boom

the racing beat type FCD
can not respond fast enough to prevent fuel cut
when you have a free flowing exhaust

I hate them with a passion

a reprogrammed chip is the only real and accurate solution

ilovebree 01-14-06 11:14 PM

no fcd here, got rtek!! woohoo!

ilovebree 01-15-06 12:32 AM

ok, im going to make a front mount

rick_tj 01-15-06 12:57 AM

I think Rteks have a built in FCD, bree.

I used an RB FCD for a couple years with no issues... Never ONCE experienced fuel-cut with a full 80mm exhaust/hybrid turbo etc.

KeloidJonesJr. 01-15-06 03:44 AM

RB exhaust, ported wastegate, intake, injectors, FCD, aftermarket intercooler?

Boost Lee 01-15-06 03:56 AM

You need a full exhaust, an FCD, a fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator.

If I'm correct the rteks eliminate the fuel cut code from the ecu all together

Silverfc88 01-15-06 07:13 AM

I think Rteks remove fuel cut not just trick it.

kabooski 01-15-06 08:23 AM

rtek= FCE (eliminator)
POS Racing beat = FCD (defender/tricks the ECU)

adrock3217 01-15-06 09:04 AM

Odd how everyone is just repeated my original post :\ Wastee
