How do you "bump" the starter?

I just read the ATF trick article.

I have experience with some other non roatry cars, but I have yet to hear the term "bump" the starter.

Please help me out. Maybe I am just dumb, but how do you "bump" a starter? I want to know this so I can do the ATF trick correctly. Thanks!

its a term thats been around for decades.

it actually means Blip the starter. all you do is go to start the car, but let off. just On and off, REAL fast. youd be better off just turning the pullies by hand or wrench.

just turn the crank pully a only 1/4 or 1/3 of a turn each time, and add a couple more teaspoons of ATF in each rotor, and do it a couple more times.

well im sure you know how to do it.

THank you so much man! You made my life a lot easier! I really appreciate your help!

You are right, turning the rotor is easier than bumping the ignition!
