how do u tilt da engine to alighn tranny?

i'm currently replacing my clutch..

i'm for sure gonna have a hard time lining up the engine and tranny..
i heard that i should atleast tilt the engine toward the rear of the car, the question is..

how and where would be the propper way to do this?..
i've only got two hydraulic jacks

any tips guys :)

i was about to rip on you for the title, but then i see it is a joke, right? ha

but seriously, go rent a transmission jack from an auto parts store, you wont regret it, and your transmission wont fall of the jack and get all fucked up. and with a tranny jack you wont need to 'tilt' the engine the jack will be sufficent for line up.

I put a tranny in an 88 a long time ago... The transmission arent terribly heavy. All I did was pu a jack under the lower pully in the front of the engine. just gave it a couple pumps to get the rear of the engine to lean down a little. I had the car way up on jackstands and crawled underneath and got the transmission up there by hand and had a buddy start a couple of the bolts to hold it up. It was actually really easy. Just make sure you align your clutch(you should get an alignment tool with your clutch kit) when you put the clutch on and it should go pretty easy for you. Good Luck!

if youve never done this before i would still go with the tranny jack

Clutch allighnment tool make sure you have the right one and it's propperly alighned les you trying to put a square shaft in a triangle hole, (it's an expression)

I used a prybar on the front cover with a piece of wood to chock it once it was tilted forward.

Worked for me.

You could also get a six pack to entice a buddy to come over and push on it for a little while. :)

if your motor mounts are old, you can say goodbye to them. tranny work is a good time to replace them.
