How do I make sure my coils are working properly?

I got the plug plugged into the CAS, and I want to check to see if my coils are working or not. I don't have an alternator, and I hope that does not make a lot of difference. The battery also reads 12.57.

HAILERS: Got any suggestions. The wiring harness looks to be in one piece. I also have two plugs by the fuse box that are not connected to anything. But I have no idea what they are for, there probably 10 other plugs, plugged into something though. Thanks guys for the help.

I was told to start a new thread, well here it is. I could probably hook up the voltmeter to the CAS to see if that is bad or not. Before, the plugs under the fuse box were not plugged in, and the wiring harness was not plugged into the CAS.
