How do I bypass the interlock switch?

This car was changed from an auto to a manual and I don't have the interlock system. I was wondering if I could just solder a wire from one of the points on the back of my ignition switch, through a fuse, then directly onto the spade connector on the starter. I have been testing all the wires on the back of the ignition switch and I can't find the start wire. Does anybody know which wire it is, and yes I turned the key. If I am doing anything wrong, then tell me. Thanks guys.

Youre right on the way to do it. IF you want eh clutch switch to function, run your wire through it and it will. IIRC the igintion supply wire is black with a red stripe, thick, single connector, but I wont swear to it.

Your right, it is black w/a red stripe. Do I need a fuse or can it go right to the connector on the starter? Maybe I should put a toggle switch in.

I run it directly top the starter. IT is protected by a fuse in front of that circuit anyway. No switches or fuses needed.

Don't need neither of them. I found out which wire it was. I hooked up the positive to the starter and I tapped the other part into the wire on the ignition switch. Nothing. It is a 2 month old battery. Also the post clamps were not on tight, just slipped on. I think that was the problem. I didn't even get a click out of the starter so tomorrow we get new post clamps and we use the battery booster. Anyone have a TII alternator?:p:

Have you used a test light or voltmeter to verify that trigger power is getting to your starter? also check the main engine/tranny ground and starter power supply. All a starter needs to work is 3 things: ground, main power supply, and trigger powre supply. IF you have all 3 supplies and it doesnt work, the starter is junk. I have alternators f/s btw, you can use NA alternators on t2s and vice versa, you just rotate the battery terminal arm.
