how come the BOV does not vent!

how come i can't vent my stock BOV???? i have a FMIC but everytime i take the hose off that conects from the TID, it stalls and can't keep idle?

is it possible to vent the bov?

any help?

you can't open vent the stock one by itself. you can buy a check vavle... seach for that.

I asume you are blocking the stock hole in the TID after?

you are best off to just buy an aftermarket one. if you have a FMIC it'll be easy to add one.

As Scott says. The reason is because you are creating a huge vacuum leak.

Its because what your car has a recirculation valve which normally gets plumbed back into the intake. It stays open when not under boost, thusly creating a vacuum leak and making your car run lean.

If you want to go cheap, then you can get a check valve or just buy a blow off valve. However, you will run super rich every time you blow boost off because your afm cannot adjust for the air escaping from the BOV.

So, really you're not supposed to do it that way, but you may be able to get away with it. I have an atmospheric BOV on my Supra which still has an air flow meter (which makes for some nice fireballs at night).

Also - because it is "uncivilized" to vent to the atmosphere.

just buy a BOV. When it comes to cars, do it correctly the first time, don't do some sort of makeshift crap job.
